Chronic inflammation in our bodies has been linked to everything from acne and allergies, to intestinal issues, neurological disorders, autoimmune diseases, and joint pain according to Dr. Mark Hyman. Sometimes it takes an illness or health condition to give us motivation to significantly change our habits and consciously add anti-inflammatory nutrients to our diet.
It's tough to avoid all inflammatory foods— I mean who's kidding who—scrumptious, sweet and fatty temptation is lurking everywhere we turn. But so are those nasty little free radicals! They are just waiting to attack us at any moment!
Most of us know we are better off cutting back on processed items, sugary treats and drinks, and high fat foods. And realizing the importance of fruits and vegetables are great first steps towards better health! But why not take it a little further? Try slipping in immunity boosting ingredients like ginger, garlic, cinnamon, turmeric or chia seeds and see if it makes a difference. Making a few adjustments in your diet and being more aware of the dangers surrounding inflammation will help to fight off dreaded disease and promote weight loss all at the same time! It's a win, win!
